Spicy Arrabbiata Pasta

A simple yet delicious pasta recipe using Lucia’s Arrabbiata Sauce β€” perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients (Add them to your shopping list)

  • 1 jar Lucia Arrabbiata Pasta Sauce
  • 350g penne pasta (Also delicious with spaghetti)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • Your choice of
    • baby spinach
    • olives
    • grilled chicken or prawns
    • chilli flakes for extra heat
  • Fresh basil or parsley
  • Parmesan or pecorino cheese

Instructions (the magic is in the detail)

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft and fragrant.
  4. Pour in the Lucia Arrabbiata Sauce and simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  5. Add spinach or protein if using.
  6. Reserve Β½ cup pasta water, then drain pasta.
  7. Toss pasta through the sauce, adding a splash of pasta water to help coat everything evenly.
  8. Top with basil and grated cheese.

Arrabbiata sauce traditionally combines tomatoes, garlic, chilli, parsley, and olive oil for a spicy Roman-style pasta sauce.
